Behavior Interventions
Tier 2
Some students may need additional supports besides the whole school PBIS and Behavior Plan. Additional information about these supports is provided below.
Check In Check Out (CICO)- When teachers and families decide together that students are not responding to the school wide plan, the student is placed on a program called Check In Check Out. This system provides the student feedback on how well they followed the BE Statements throughout 7 subject areas. Students also have a staff member outside of their classroom teacher that will check in with them every morning, and check out every afternoon. Data from CICO is recorded daily and student progress is monitored monthly by the PBIS Tier 2 committee.
Social Academic Instructional Group- When students are not showing adequate progress through the data collected by CICO, they may be selected for a Social Academic Instructional Group. Students spend six weeks working on emotional management or executive functioning skills. If they are able to apply these skills to the school environment, they graduate from SAIG.

Tier 3
If a student is not responding to Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions and their behavior is interfering with their learning they may qualify for a Behavior Intervention Plan. A Functional Behavior Assessment will be completed to get a full picture of behaviors and possible interventions. A team will work with families to create a plan to reduce negative behaviors and increase appropriate behaviors.
